 BRUTAL BUT THE TRUTH

{BY- ALINA SADH}

“WOMEN, THEY HAVE MINDS,

AND THEY HAVE SOULS, AS WELL

 AS JUST HEARTS. AND THEY’VE

GOT AMBITION,AND THEY’VE

GOT TALENT, AS WELL AS JUST

 BEAUTY.AND I’M SO SICK OF

 PEOPLE SAYING THAT LOVE IS

JUST ALL A WOMAN IS FIT FOR.”

The talk {fight} about seeking equality for women has been on the rise since past century globally.

And it’s the battle still not conquered.

Yet, in vast country like India it came in limelight only few decades ago, in form of feminism.

People are still struggling to give equal status to females, they are still not over “HOW CAN THEY FUNCTION BELOW A WOMEN”.

Generally people here have build a mindset that women don’t belong to stand equally, they belong to the kitchen pampering their families and raising children.

We may try to showcase how much of equality we are providing women in higher society, even so when it comes to marriage and workplace , they still act diplomatic and dramatic. But we know that the core problem lies in areas that are not focused that being ‘RURAL AREAS’. Females are still not sent to seek education, are being domestically tortured in many parts of the country.

This outlook has bruised every female mentally whether they are on the top post or getting suppressed by the society.

Processing these thoughts make us loose our appetite, they are harsh.

Still people continue only chanting feminism after searching its meaning from google is going to make a change.

There are risks , violations and vulnerabilities girls face just because they are girls. Most of these risks are directly linked to the economic, political, social and cultural disadvantages girls deal within their daily lives We may try to showcase how much of equality we are providing women in higher society. This becomes acute during crises and disasters.

We can read many things , write them too, but until and unless those things are not put into actions they are worthless.

Its true, we still cannot feel confident in whatever we wear, because we see ourselves from others perspective ,the stares people give burn our mind, makes us mentally as well as physically weak. Which brings girls and their folks to  think about their dressing.

On the other hand, clothing is not even an issue , whether a girl wears mini skirt or the salwar result is the same . Rape cases are touching heights day by day.

Years        Number of cases reported

2018                33,356

2017                32,559

2016                38,947

2015                34,651

They have a preconceived notion about our role in the society, our strengths or weaknesses . Which we have to prove wrong and stand our grounds.

Nowadays whenever women are provided with some positions, they are given with sorrow in people’s eye, as they are doing favour to us , its not just men but even women overlook one another.

We can see that , politics is an gender field as well, where most of the power lies in the hands of the men.

For a prolonged period of time female feticides are wrongly practiced not only in rural as well as in classified urban areas.

Women endure harassment at work places, public transports and houses, endurance is so quiet that make the males feel highly encouraged.

Such illegal happenings are eliminated and moral support is provided by organisations like- Women India Trust, Indian Women and Child Welfare Trust etc.

Women possess so much more potential in them , only if they were allowed to spread their wings , were given the same opportunities as men . Scenario today would have been so much different, then it is today in our country . We may celebrate women’s day but we have to make sure to celebrate women , their success , their ambitions….

WE MIGHT THINK THAT WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY , BUT WE HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO OVERCOME!!
